The students were enthusiastic to participate in the climate action project, week 2.

We started discussed about the effect of climate change, the students discussed in their groups about the effect since it is something they can relate to considering we are based in a low lying coastal region and we experience flooding from time to time which even disrupts coming to school and being displaced. The students were glad when they learnt about the tree planting. We planted the tree after our discussing about the effect of climate change.

How green House gases (CFCs, CO2, Co, CH4. etc.) effect climate and man. 

The class started at the begining of the year by planting indigienous water wise plants in a small area of our school. They have been watering it every day. 8 months later they are now weeding the garden and watering it some more. We also (propergated) planted in pots an endangered ground cover suculant and we are now we will look after them and when they are established we will transplant them into our eco garden at school. 

Students discussed the Effects causing Pollution 

Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. These shifts may be natural, but since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels (like coal, oil, and gas), which produces heat-trapping gases.

The impacts of climate change on different sectors of society are interrelated. Drought can harm food production and human health. Flooding can lead to disease spread and damages to ecosystems and infrastructure. Human health issues can increase mortality, impact food availability, and limit worker productivity.

Fossil fuels – coal, oil and gas – are by far the largest contributor to global climate change, accounting for over 75 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions and nearly 90 per cent of all carbon dioxide emissions. Cutting down forests, generating power , manufacturing goods are causes whereas health risks and poverty are some of the effects of climate change.

Generating electricity and heat by burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas causes a large chunk of global emissions. Most of the electricity is still produced from fossil fuels; only about a quarter comes from wind, solar, and other renewable sources.

A POWERFUL PRESENTATION EMPHASISNG THAT THERE IS NO PLANET B, LETS SAVE OUR EARTH

 First we divided students into 6 groups out of which three were assigned to explore the school campus and the rest their own societies.

            Students made a list of different creatures seen in the monsoon season.

                      They also noted down the number of species they found during the three campus surveys (1PT Lecture ,2 Science Lectures) in school.

                     Two student representatives of Eco- club, Master Pushkar  and Athrav bhise  interviewed one of the senior most faculty members Mrs.Nirupama Kale who has been working in our school for 9 years. Students asked various questions regarding the changes in the number of monsoon creatures she has noticed in these years of teaching in this school.

                    One of the group interviewed our school gardener Mali kaka who has been working in our school for 10 years.

                         On the basics of various surveys conducted, students   presented data and completed their final report.

1. What was the outcome of the task:  

• Students understood that there has been a decrease in the no of monsoon creatures in the last ten years.
• Students realized the reason behind this decrease is that initially school was surrounded by agricultural  land and greenery but the   urbanization  and rising concrete jungles have impacted the food and habitat  of these creatures in  the course of time disturbing their food web and deteriorating their population. 

Students reflected on the causes of climate change. They researched the effects of climate change after researching the same. They interviewed members of different generations to know more about the causes and effects of climate change seen in the weather pattern, flora and fauna.

Students of DPS Varanasi collaboratively worked locally to find out the causes and effects on 1. local plants,2. local animals,3. local weather patterns 4. local effect on human activity/lifestyle.

Students from grade 2 to grade 11 performed the following activities-

1. Assembly was conducted on loss of habitat due to change in climate by primary students. They recited a poem on "the habitat".

2, Session was conducted related to the causes and effects of the climate change.

3. Plantation drive by whole school

Students studied the changes in weather pattern in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Followed by comparing the Pune years back and listed down the cause and effect of changes.

Students were encouraged to segregate their waste into biodegradable and recyclable waste and put them in blue and green dustbin accordingly.

Students reflected on the causes of climate change. They researched the effects of climate change after researching the same. They interviewed different generations to learn more about the causes and effects of climate change and changes in weather patterns, flora, and fauna.

Students of DAV Public School, Sector 49 Gurugram, participated in week 2 activities of Climate Action Project.They planted numerous saplings, made beautiful candle stands from watse material, they also made beautiful Terrariums to fight climate change.

The learners watched various videos related to effects of climate action. They then volunteered to come up with their learnings and wrote various effects of climate action on the planet and environment and us.

Children planted the saplings ofvarious variety of plants, including medicinal, ornamental etc. They were sensitized to be the green warriors and GROW MORE TREES to revive our planet EARTH.

The learners watched various videos related to effects of climate action. They then volunteered to come up with their learnings and wrote various effects of climate action on the planet and environment and us.

Mount Abu Junior School organized a Cleanliness Drive under the campaign of climae action to escalate awareness amongst learners about the significance of cleanliness and hygiene.
Our troop of learners armed with brooms and banners  took the great initiative of cleaning the atrium,  garden area, outside premises of school, studio and corridors.
Drive  turned out to be a great practical learning experience for our pyp learners.

Some of the gases in Earth’s atmosphere trap heat from the Sun—like the glass roof and walls of a greenhouse. These greenhouse gases keep Earth warm enough to live on. But human activities, such as the destruction of forests and burning fossil fuels, create extra greenhouse gases. This traps even more of the Sun’s heat, leading to a warmer Earth.

ON CLIMATE ACTION PROJECT'S SECOND WEEK EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE WAS EXPLAINED AND DISCUSSED WITH A CLASS OF 40 STUDENTS OF DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL SECTOR-49 GURUGRAM, INDIA. CHILDREN WERE ASKED TO PLANT SAPLINGS AND MAKE TERRANIUM TO PROMOTE AFFORESTATION.

Warmer temperatures over time are changing weather patterns and disrupting the usual balance of nature. This poses many risks to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth.

climate change has several effects. In order to categorise them in an ordered manner we study the effects on a local and on a global level.

Learners digged deep into the various effects of the causes they have chosen (Super heroes) and inquired.

For the 2nd week of Climate Action Project, Funlish Climate Warriors from grades 5 to grade 8 grappled with the effects of Climate Change to understand how to neutralize it better by making posters, Presentations and videos.

They were also asked to list the actions they had undertaken to counter these negative climate changes.

An overwhelming response was received and some very interesting and unique observations were shared by the parents and their relatives.
It was really heartening to see the passion Navrachanites have towards the environment.

Climate Action

TOWARDS A BRIGHTER TOMORROW

The raging issue of global warming has been a concern since some time. To mitigate its impact and provide a better tomorrow, students across the globe have become part of the Climate Action Project (CAP). Students of Sanjivani International School initiated this year's CAP on an inspirational note. Alongwith outlining the action plan for the coming weeks, the students were also briefed about the achievements of the school in this regard to inspire participants to contribute towards creating a healthier planet.
Dr. Anurag Pandey, Principal, applauded the efforts of the students and appreciated their sense of responsibility towards the environment. 
In the coming sessions, students will brainstorm, explore, create, discuss and share their findings with students and partner schools.

The Effects of Climate Action , The students learnt about rising temperature , rising sea level, unpredictable weather patterns land degradation and loss of biodiversity and wildlife.

The week began with a plantation drive by Pre- Primary children. Parents were actively involved in the project. the school garden is now full of 80 new flowering plant. Thereafter we asked our children to share the real images of effects of climate change on living things. Students uploaded pictures on telegram group. We then had a short skit signifying the effects of Climate change in Mumbai. Students performed an emotional play showing the effects of climate change on plants, acquatic life and humanbeings. they showcase their excellent performances in the skit. The skit was then shared on various social media platforms to sensitze parents and other school communities about serious threats posed by climate change. Our young climate warriors urged people to find solutions to mitigate the issue, Overall, an exciting week!

Our students analyzed the changes in climate in our local area. 

Learners took up claims for local , national and global issues , gave supporting evidences ( news articles & from internet) and finally came up with wondering questions based on their claim and research.

The effects of Climate change:

      The consequences of Climate change now include, among others, intence droughts,  water scarcity, severe fires, rising sea levels , flooding, melting polar ice ,catastrophic storms and declining bio diversity. 

The cause effect of Climate change:

       Human activities, such as burning fossil fuels and destroying rain forests have an increasing influence on the climate and the Earth's temperature. The adds huge quantities of green house gases to those naturally present in the atmosphere , incresing the green house effect and global warming.

Droughts in many region:

        The frequency and extent of the devastation and distruction caused by the weather is getting stronger and more frequent. According to a report by the inter governmental pannel on climate change (IPCC, 2021), Climate change is intensifying the water cycle , leading to intensifying drought in many regions.

The three main effects of climate change:

          Earth well continur to warm and the effects will be pro found. 

          The potencial future effects of global climate change include more frequent wild fires, longer periods of drought in some regions, and an increse in the duration and intensity of tropical stroms.

The main threats of climate change:

           The main threats of climate change , stemming from the rising temperature of earth atmosphere include rising sea levels, eco system collapes and more frequent and severe weather. rising temperatures from human caused green house gas emissions affects planet - wide systems in various ways.

Global tree planting:

            The nature conservances plant a billion trees combined is major forest restoration program. Our goal is to plant a billion trees across the planet to slow the connected crises of climate change and bio diversity loss. A lot can change in a life time including the palnet we live on.

Planting trees helps to avoid global warming:

             To plant a tree the right way you will want to dig a big enough hole to plant it in. Measure the length of the roots and make the hole at least that deep. Make the hole 2 - 3 times as wide as the roots on the tree. Put the tree in the hole and use a level to make sure its straight.

Even middle class people are dependent on A/C ( Air Conditioner ) . Minimum rain fall is also leading to flood condition. So people are migrating to city's. Over crowded city's creating pollution and health issues.

3) - Multiplie perspectives like :- (1)multi media. (2) science and technology.  (3) IT (Information Technology).(4) bio technolog 
These things will provide  new direction for action.

Students researched on the effect of climate change on different seasons. Students prepared posters on impact of climate change on different seasons globally. For example, Change in pattern of monsoon in Asian countries and European countries

This week we at Sekolah Global Indo Asia (Batam, Indonesia)  experienced planting the trees with medicinal properties. Students also shared their opinion regarding the benefits of planting and caring of trees. Planting trees is the one of the most effective ways to combat climate change.

Students interviewed an older generation to ask about their personal experiences of and opinions on climate change. The questions were as follows:

2) Why? What is your evidence?

3) What do you think is the cause?

4) What do you think should be done?

The students remembered the main causes of climate change. Then they worked in four groups, where they considered the impact of climate change on flora, fauna, weather and human activities. The students drew a map of the world, where they marked the most dangerous regions with different colors and argued among themselves about the consequences.

What is Climate Change? Climate change is a long-term change in the average weather patterns that have come to define Earth's local, regional and global climates. These changes have a broad range of observed effects that are synonymous with the term.

Our students discussed what are the consequences of climate change and did some team works.

Students discussed the effects of Climate change for example Global warming. They brought awareness among peers about the effects of climate change.

This week our students brainstormed some ideas about why does the climate change happen and how does it impact the local and global public. Moreover, to get more opinions from differing generations on current ecological problems, they have interviewed people from their surroundings.

The students are actively engaged in planting trees/plants at home to learn about the importance of trees for the environment, animals and also humans. They learnt to save the papers so that the trees will be saved globally. They also collected trash from their homes to be recycled in a local company from the school. The students have taken shared responsibilty to reduce, reuse and recycle plastic waste from home and school.

Climate change is already impacting health in a myriad of ways, including by leading to death and illness from increasingly frequent extreme weather events, such as heatwaves, storms and floods, the disruption of food systems, increases in zoonoses and food-, water- and vector-borne diseases, and mental health issues.

What are 5 effects of climate change?

Climate change is the single biggest health threat facing humanity. Climate impacts are already harming health, through air pollution, disease, extreme weather events, forced displacement, pressures on mental health, and increased hunger and poor nutrition in places where people cannot grow or find sufficient food.

Grade 6 students from the Pakistan Beaconhouse school system investigated the impacts of climate change. Pakistan was recently flooded, disrupting people's lives and severely impacting the economy. Students made a list on the padlet wall and posters presenting the issues. They also started the campaign by planting more trees to save the Earth and join the global community.

This week was exciting, as the students discussed with their peers and families the causes of climate change in Palestine and its negative effects on life.

As we already know some effects are,

The one effect not all people know is that climate change changes the behaviour of humans. In
fact, psychologists say that it is true. However, the weather can’t affect our happy mood but
indeed it affects our negative mood.
How does the climate affect us?
First of all, the weather doesn’t have a direct impact on our mood but, it affects the way we
function and how we live. For example, sunlight in a way affects our mood. The amount of
sunlight we get depends on how our mood is. If we get less sunlight that you’re probably gloomy.
If you get more sunlight you’ll probably feel happier.
What are the causes of Climate Change?
The main reason of Climate change is because of the burning of fossil fuels like oil, gas and coal.
When, burnt they release carbon dioxide in air causing the planet to heat up.

Climate Change in Singapore
Climate Change is a significant global problem which has not only affected the Earth, but
also us. Singapore, which is a country very near to the equator, is already hot, but due to the
recent global warming and climate change, these temperatures have just increased over
time in staggering amounts
Why is climate change occurring in Singapore?
Climate change has a lot of reasons for occurring in Singapore. One of the most significant
reasons for Climate change is greenhouse gases. The most affective of these toxic gases is
CO2 or Carbon Dioxide. Some reasons for emission of Carbon Dioxide is burning fossil fuels
to meet our energy needs in the industry, building, household and transport sectors in
Singapore.
Not only this, but there is another reason as well. The Urban Heat Island Effect. This means
that climate change or global warming will occur due to the waste heat emitted by vehicles
and factories and the heat which is contained by buildings and emitted during the night-
time, warming the atmosphere more, than it already is.
These reasons have largely affected Singapore and its surroundings. These effects can be
things like increased temperatures, larger amount of health risks, such as sickness, heat
stroke, etc and increased rainfall and sea level.
However one thing to note is that Singapore takes its eco-friendliness very seriously.
Singapore has started managing its vehicle population and has made a switch from fuel oil

I and my students met through Google Meet to define tasks for each team and divide them into teams.. Team 1 works on software to design projects on the Minegraft, Cosspace and Scratch platform on the causes and consequences of climate change.. Another team is working on environmentally friendly hand projects and the third team is designing recycling models  From the harmonization of the environment.. Then we agreed to hold defamation campaigns in the fourth week of the global climate action project

My students and I also attended an informative and entertaining session on climate change as a puppet play with Climate Change Project Coordinator Kalyani Rowe within the suchana programme.

Actions were taken in our school to raise awareness about climate change. The causes of climate change were shown with posters and posters. We planted seeds and saplings in our school garden. We talked about the importance of trees and plants. We learned the importance of trees to combat climate change. In order to remind the importance of planting trees, we donated trees thanks to environmental foundations in our country.

Meeting three schools as Hurriyet Mesleki ve Anadolu Lisesi Hasan Ali Yucel Anadolu Lisesi and Hasan Aslanoba Anadolu Lisesi We gathered around a drying lake called Golbası in the district of Kestel in BURSA. We would like to pay attention to the drought which is one of the results for Climate Change. We aimed to raise concern over drought in our living areas by examining the agricultural fields around the lake. In order to increase social awareness about environmental topics we did a garbage collection activity around the lake with all students and teachers.

The most important consequence of climate change is the increase in the average temperature of the earth. With the increase in the average temperature of the world, the severity of heat waves also increases. Another consequence of the increase in average temperatures is the increase in evaporation. In other words, the higher the temperatures will increase, the more the seas, lakes and the water in them will evaporate more and more. 
This excess evaporating water leads to more rain, floods, landslides, hurricanes in the ocean.
Intensive evaporation has two negative effects: First, the time between two Decays increases, that is, drought occurs. Then, when precipitation comes, the amount of rain that falls increases, that is, torrential rains begin. These two increases negatively affect the world.
One of the most important consequences of climate change is the sea level rise that can be seen due to the melting of glaciers in the Arctic and the South Pole.

We researched the effects of climate change with students. They told each other through peer education. There are many effects such as drought, loss of agricultural lands, increase in average temperatures and storms that increase their intensity. We planted trees in the garden of our school. We gave seeds to parents.We started to collect the seeds of fruits and vegetables at home.

We decided to plant trees in our school yard with students and teachers in our school.On 29th September we launched our project to our students. All students and teachers participated in the activity .

Ortalama sıcaklıkların artmasının bir başka sonucu buharlaşmanın artmasıdır. Yani sıcaklıklar ne kadar artacak olursa denizler göller ve buralardaki su gittikçe daha fazla buharlaşır. 

Bu fazla buharlaşan su daha fazla yağmura, sele, toprak kaymasına, okyanusta kasırgalara yol açar.

Warmer temperatures over time are changing weather patterns and disrupting the usual balance of nature. This poses many risks to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth.

We are living in UAE and here the sand is not fertile to grow plants most people do not want to get into the hassle of buying fertilizer so we teach kids how they can grow plants even with the use of tissue paper. We did the seedling activity in class and later our kids observed the sprouting.

In the project presented for the second week, we have done a before and after. We have planted trees in a place that was no tree at all, we have taken care of them and they are full grown. It is seen clearly the way that they have blossom and gave us life :)

As trees grow, they help stop climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere.

Students will get the tasks for exploring at home.(flipped classroom). Next day they must present their results in front of classroom. Afther that they will have work in groups on

the experiments. Also they will present conclusions and at the and they will have art

workshop with presentation of their posters in Canva. They need to find solution how to how to reduce drinking water consumption.

The students of the 6th grade brainstormed and discussed in plenary the effects of climate change in Greece like extreme weather conditions . They shared their experiences and then, they decide to create animations using programming (scratch 3. 0)to present their work.

The video contains images and a few interviews of visitors and residents from the area and it was created after my trip to Norway in August 2022.

So, from an experience that is more emotionally familiar to children, we “traveled” to collect information, observe, study, compare, experiment, conclude and be active citizens.

All students in the third class of our school discuss all the week about the effects of the climate change. We live in a greek island and the first effect of all that we talk about, was the melt of the ice in Antarctica and the change in the amount of water in the seas. In addition, because of the "Day of the animals" we discuss about the animals which live in the water (seas, lakes etc) and the effects on them.

Due to the coming change in weather , the students decided to build a model of a sustainable garden.

The students researched and watched videos and are reading the book "Earth's Fever" and determined the main effects of climate change are: sea levels rising; severe weather (tornadoes/Tsunamis/hurricanes); temperatures rising; ice caps and glaciers melting; animals losing homes or habitats being destroyed; and humans are threatened by poor air quality.

In Italy we are especially in danger because we are a peninsula and our oceans are at risk. There is much pollution and animals are suffering.

Defining Clima change and effect

Through the game "Go Goals!", students learned about 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which the countries of the United Nations agreed to fulfill by 2030. Go Goals! is a game for children, designed to be fun and engaging, this game informs children while motivating them to actively pursue the GOALS. The 13th goal is Climate Change.

Pentru a observa cum acționează "efectul de seră", elevii au plantat semințe de grâu în vase identice, unul din ele fiind acoperit cu folie alimentară. Pe parcurs elevii vor duce observații asupra vaselor și vor deduce anumite concluzii despre consecințele schimbărilor climaterice.

This week students learnt about effects of climate change. Members of team "Smile" prepared presentations on the topic and delivered them at the lessons. Then the students discussed the topic and created the longest list of effects. 

Also the students watched some reports made by our partners all around the words. Students were impressed by these reports and shared impressions and shared impressions and share impressions in class. 

In the second week, the students analyzed the effects of climate change at the local level. They watched videos submitted by other teams to infer the effects of climate change across the planet. They determined whether they played in the video and present ppt the local effects on flora, fauna, weather patterns and human activity. They distinguished between cause and effect by solving interactive exercises. To save the planet, we joined the action #plantED (global tree planting) and planted trees on the grounds of the institution.

Students in Drochia analyzed the effects of this phenomenon on their native town.

The students acknowledge the local effects of climate change. They created presentations and drew pictures about the local effects of climate change. The first effect that everybody noticed in our area is lack of snow in winter. Another effect is that we have hot summers here, we can barely breathe during summer .

Our locality is very influenced by climate change because it is not a big country and any change can bring agricultural damage: drought, torrential rains or actions of countries outside the borders that can influence the climate and cause various unpleasant cases. for example, not long ago over a village or even in Chisinau in the morning the townspeople noticed that the sky was of a strange shade, they were not new but the sky was the color of milk with a strange tone of yellow and gray this phenomenon is called sky of milk is the first time that such a phenomenon occurs in our town and it has been documented that this sky was caused by some climatic disturbances.

Schimbările climatice din Republica Moldova sunt reprezentate de creșterea temperaturii, inundații, creșterea și variația precipitațiilor. Ocazional, în cadrul studiilor se analizează impactul riscurilor climatice asupra unor domenii specifice ale dezvoltării umane și creșterii economice, cum ar fi agricultura, sănătatea umană sau biodiversitatea. Foarte rare sunt studiile științifice în care autorii i-au în considerare impactul pe care aceste riscuri îl vor avea asupra anumitor grupuri de persoane, ocupații sau surse de venit.

Există mai multe probleme negative, care au avut un impact și asupra omului, cum sunt: fenomene meteorologice puternice și neregulate, care vor duce la intensificarea eroziunii solului, inundațiilor și epuizării apelor subterane; reducerea disproporționată a terenurilor agricole (care au scăzut cu 3% în ultimii 15 ani) și a populației dependente (care a scăzut cu 12% în aceeași perioadă), vizibilă ca urmare a diferitor politici naționale și a factorilor geoclimatici; nivelul de stres din cauza problemelor legate de disponibilitatea și utilizarea apei se așteptă să crească în deceniile viitoare, mai ales în raioanele centrale și sudice ale Moldovei.

Există, însă, și câteva aspecte pozitive, cum sunt: creșterea numărului de zile mai calde, favorabile pentru efectuarea cultivărilor, creșterea nr. de animale, alte necesități umane vor necesita o utilizare mai redusă de energie (energie electrică). Aceasta, însă, nu înseamnă că cererea de combustibil importat va fi scăzută.

Climate change had a negative effect on water resources and, in most years, human health. Extreme temperatures leave many families living in poverty with less food, less clean water, lower incomes and worsening health. Children’s immune systems are still developing, leaving their rapidly growing bodies more sensitive to disease and pollution.

through our video, we have presented 5 effects of climate changes in our country, with the hope that each of us must adapt ways that can reduce and control our bad habits that affect the environment. We need to take the initiative and make everyone aware of climate change

Unified club volunteers reforested locality in Štitovo, in Župa Nikšićka, which was affected by large fires in previous years. Štitovo's perspective was pretty sad in some views. Large parts of this place gives image of wasteland, while in some parts the forest is preserved. We planted 500 spruce's seedlings and tried to make our modest contribution to improving the eco system of this area. Many other students from elementary schools, as well as some of the citizens, joined us in that adventure. The day was sunny, full of cheerful mood and great company. We know that this number of seedlings is modest, but we have so many new plans to continue where we left. We believe that anybody who wants this area to be improved, should join our forces. The organizers of the activity are prof. Milica Kovačević and prof. Branka Vukotić. This afforesting action is one of many series of activities in Unified team. The seedlings and other expenses were financed by the Municipality of Nikšić.

1. This week our Geography teacher has organized the workshop for high school students "Waste Management". The workshop has forwarded the discussion which shows that young people read, investigate and analyse reasons which have already led (and which still influence)  to the climate change.

We have also studied the scheme which shows an enormous quantity of waste which each person in different countries generates per year (the teacher has used different official source to prepare the information).

Then students worked in groups in order to create the poster which had to enumerate  the impact of waste on the climate change.   Visual results had been discussed.
The workshop has increased the awareness of students about the climate change and also highlighted the importance of every day climate's care and waste balance.
 

2.In the group of teachers, engaged in the project, we have discussed the Fashion Evening "Give me the second life". The goal of this school event is to show that old things and items could be used the second or the third time.

The event has aimed to involve students into the creative collaboration through climate education. The date, form, place and have been chosen.

3. We have also studied the material about Climate Action project and agreed the nearest meeting to discuss everything in details.

4. Students have also been informed about the possibility to join big in-school Climate Activities, as preparation of the fashion evening „Give me the second life” and the creative exhibition  „How the planet Earth looks in 50 years”.

After some meetings and discussion students came out with the most essential,in their opinion, effects of climate change. They prepared a short presentation.

Împreună cu elevii clasei a IV-a am discutat despre efectele încălzirii globale și ale poluării asupra planetei noastre. Copiii au dat sfaturi sau au scris îndemnuri pentru a stopa efectele negative care ne afectează în mod egal pe noi toți. Am vizionat diverse materiale despre această temă, elevii realizând desene sugestive.

Super-savantul Tino ne-a ajutat să ne dăm seama care sunt efectele devastatoare pe care le are încălzirea globală și să întocmim o listă cu acestea. După aceea am vorbit despre importanța copacilor în viața nostră. Pentru că nu am putut planta un copac, noi am decis să plantăm niște plante folosindu-ne de materialele reciclate. 

Elevii au vizionat filme despre resursele epuizabile, au purtat discuții despre soluții care ar ajuta omenirea să economisească resursele, apoi au confecționat felinare din materiale reciclabile.

Aceste activități se realizează în fiecare an la nivelul școlii, fiind foarte apreciate de elevi.

This week we discussed the effects of climate change that we feel in our area and made a list of these effects on the environment.

Folosind câteva elemente simple și inspirați de activitățile descoperite în cadrul acestui proiect, am realizat plastilină eco, fără a folosi plastic sau alte substanțe chimice. Într-un mod simplu, copiii au învățat să își prepare plastilină și au descoperit că pot folosi și coloranți naturali pentru un plus de originalitate. Astfel, au descoperit  procesul brânzirii laptelui, în amestec cu o soluție acidă (oțet), cel mai simplu mod de preparare a brânzei. Elevii au decis că pot colora pasta maleabilă obținută cu coloranți naturali: suc de sfeclă-roșu, suc de struguri negri-violet, suc de frunze de pătrunjel-verde, praf de curcuma-galben.

Elevii mei au avut parte de o lecție de matematică atipică: pentru a salva copacii , am renunțat la fișele de lucru clasice și am folosit frunzele colorate ale copacilor!

Am desfășurat o activitate de ecologizare în spatiile verzi din oraș. 

After preschoolers from the large group "Florile" learned in the first week about the causes of climate change, this week we presented them with a PPT about the effects of warming and climate change globally. Preschoolers learned how harmful the consequences of their own behavior are on the environment and what are the effects of global warming on climate change, on human health, on flora / fauna, on the economy.

The children also rendered through a poster how they see the effects of pollution on the environment.

Preschoolers watched a made-up story, from which they discovered the effects of our mistakes on the earth and how we can prevent them. Then they planted acorns which we will take care of and hopefully get some nice trees to plant in the spring.

Here is the activity that we did for the second week. We discussed about effects of climate change, we watched videos and we established our list of effects. We used a second multimodal text.

Elevii au enumerat vizibilele schimbări climatice pe care le-au constatat în zona lor de domiciliu: schimbarea anotimpurilor, verile extrem de călduroase și secetoase, iernile friguroase, incendiile, fenomenele meteorologice furtuni, inundații, etc. Au hotărât să facă o paralelă între zonele globului neafectate așa amplu de schimbările climatice și zonele foarte afectate. Macheta naturii din prima săptămână, care conținea tăierile masive de pădure a fost împărțită în două părți: în usa s-a defrișat masiv și astfel schimbările sunt foarte evidente, se produc incendii, usucarea faunei datorată secetei, iar cealaltă reversul primeia, totul e verde iar apa de un albastru cristalin. 

In cea de-a doua saptamana am discutat despre schimbarile climatice si efectele lor, am urmarit filme si am discutat pe baza imaginilor. Am plantat un arbust  in gradina scolii.

In activitatea dedicată celei de-a doua săptămâni, am discutat cu elevii despre încălzirea globală și efectele ei. Am subliniat faptul că la baza încălzirii globale stă tot activitatea necontrolată a oamenilor, chiar dacă , uneori, calamitățile naturale produse nu au aparent nicio justificare.

Ce pot face copiii pentru a evita, pe termen lung, încălzirea globală? Să conștientizăm toate cauzele perturbării ciclului natural al vieții, efectele nocive pe care le are încălzirea globală și educarea oamenilor pentru a respecta natura.

Copiii au descoperit prin discuții ghidate și imagini sugestive câteva dintre efectele schimbărilor climatice, apoi au rezolvat fișe de lucru, înfățișând planeta noastră atunci când este tristă și atunci când este veselă.

Consecințele încălzirii globale

Încălzirea globală are consecințe multiple asupra mediului și asupra vieții oamenilor. Principalele efecte negative sunt:

-Topirea ghețarilor și creșterea nivelului mărilor. Încălzirea globală duce, prin creșterea temperaturilor, la topirea ghețarilor, care, la rândul ei, duce la creșterea nivelului mărilor și al oceanelor, ceea ce face ca zonele de coastă să fie inundate.

-Condiții meteo extreme și modificarea temperaturilor

Precipitațiile abundente și alte condiții meteo extreme sunt din ce în ce mai frecvente. Acestea pot provoca inundații, pot afecta calitatea apei potabile și pot reduce sursele de apă de băut în anumite regiuni.

-Riscuri pentru sănătatea oamenilor

Și riscurile pentru sănătate sunt de luat în considerare. Numărul deceselor legate de căldura excesivă a crescut în anumite regiuni și s-a modificat distribuția anumitor boli care au legătură cu umiditatea neadecvată.

-Costuri pentru societate și economie

Efectele negative asupra sănătății și daunele economice pe care le suferă bunurile și infrastructura implică costuri suplimentare de rezolvare a problemelor. De exemplu, între 1980 și 2011, inundațiile au afectat peste cinci milioane de oameni, iar pierderile economice directe au atins 90 de miliarde de euro. 

Cele mai afectate domenii sunt cele care depind de nivelul temperaturilor, și anume agricultura, silvicultura, producerea energiei regenerabile și turismul.

-Consecințe pentru țările în curs de dezvoltare

Multe dintre țările în curs de dezvoltare sunt cele mai afectate, pentru că populațiile acestora depind într-o mare măsură de mediul natural și au puține resurse pentru a combate efectele încălzirii globale.

-Consecințe pentru faună

Încălzirea globală se accentuează atât de rapid, încât multe specii de plante și animale nu se pot adapta suficient de repede la noile condiții. Multe tipuri de animale au migrat către un nou habitat, în timp ce altele sunt amenințate cu dispariția sau au dispărut deja.

După ce am discutat despre cauzele incalzirii globale, am descoperit impreuna si care sunt efectele pe termen lung , apoi am colorat o imagine sugestiva.

Prescolarii de la Gradinita PN Carasova, au dorit sa descopere cum au aparut copacii. Dupa o plimbare in natura, in preajma gradinitei, prescolarii au adunat castane, nuci, ghinde, conuri de molid si frunze. In sala de clasa toate au fost analizate in cele mai mici detalii, iar dupa cateva nuci, cateva castane, ghinde au fost plantate in pamant. In urmatoarele saptamanii copiii le vor ingriji si vom putea cum o samanta/ fruct incolteste si cum i-a nastere un nou copac. Scopul final este ca dupa ce pomisorii nostri rasar si ajung o anumita inaltime, impreuna cu parintii si copii sa- i plantam in localitatea noastra.

În aceasta săptămâna Paxi ne a  povestit despre cauzele schimbărilor climatice. Am încheiat săptămâna cu dorința de a ajuta Pământul ,am plantat un copăcel în curtea grădiniței.

Am realizat o poveste despre efectele schimbarilor climatice folosind imagini din diferite zone , copiii reusind astfel sa inteleaga ca orice cauza sau actiune neprietenoasa cu natura are efecte in timp asupra intregii planete.Copiii au fost ajutati sa inteleaga ce s-a intamplat cu apa din rauri, cu padurile din zona noastra, cu vegetatia care de la an la an dispare, cu animalele care sunt din ce in ce mai rare.Au povestit experiente proprii , constientizand schimbarile la nivelul intregii planete.Au trait emotii puternice atunci cand am discutat despre biodiversitate si despre cum animalele au cel mai mult de suferit fara a avea nicio putere in fata acestor schimbari.Au inteles ca omului ii revine obligatia de a stopa aceste efecte .Am invitat copiii sa faca un mic pas spre micsorarea si stoparea acestor efecte.Chiar daca nu au avut toti posibiltatea de a planta acum un arbore, au plantat insa flori si au ingrijit copacii deja plantati in anii trecuti.

Am discutat împreună cu copiii care sunt consecințele nerespectării măsurilor luate de guverne la nivel mondial. Copiii au discutat dacă sunt destule măsuri luate pentru protejarea mediului înconjurător, pentru a combate schimbările climatice.

In activitatile desfasurate cu elevii, acestia au fost mereu sfatuiti sa economiseasca resursele. De exemplu, in zilele in care lumina soarelui este suficienta pentru a ilumina sala de clasa, becurile se sting.

Impreuna cu elevii clasei a II-a de la Scoala Gimnaziala Vad, Jud. Cluj, Romania, am organizat pe parcursul celei de-a doua saptamani, o activitate despre efectele incalzirii globale. Elevii au vizionat o prezentare in urma careia au identificat efectele incalzirii globale. De asemenea, am desfasurat si o actiune de plantare a unui copac - pom fructifer (nuc) in curtea scolii. Prin culoare, au redat „Copacul toamnei” si am realizat o expozitie cu lucrarile elevilor. 

Hello, fellow environmental activists.

This week was a challenge, because we have so many environmental concerns, but need to find the courage to voice them and be the change we want to see in the world.

One group of students did research on the topic and made a video for this week.Also,this week we planted trees, (and flower bulbs and flower seeds, too , because the weather was sunny and beautiful here in Romania and this project is teaching us also to socialize, do teamwork and enjoy each other's company.)

The tree planting was great fun and we showed our younger collegues in school how to be environmental activists. We believe they will join this project in future years. Our headmistress praised our attitude and actions and we felt like we are doing something positive and beneficial for the community. Our Teacher was wearing a Superman T-shirt, and  we all felt like superheroes. :)

Through drawings and paintings, children expressed their feelings and perception about how the negative effects affect  nature. They represented all the causes they identified in the first week.As a gift for nature they arange a plant space in our classroom.

After the preschoolers from the "Flowers" large group learned about the causes of climate change in the first week, this week we presented them with a PPT about the effects of global warming and climate change. Preschoolers learned how harmful the consequences of their own behavior are on the environment and what are the effects of global warming on climate change, on people's health, on flora/fauna, on the economy.

Elevii au fost împătiți pe echipe, au discutat despre rolul pomilor, au semănat aluni . Fiecare recipient a fost personalizat. Copiii vor urmări şi vor îngriji planta , apoi o vor planta în curtea şcolii. S-a discutat depre consecințele lipsei pădurilor.

The children created the earth from recycled materials, identified our country and exemplified how every car that drives through our city produces smoke that makes the earth sadder/polluted.

Copiii au invatat ce este padurea, ce fel de paduri exista la noi in tara, ce vietuitoare traiesc in padure, cum protejam padurile si importanta lor in viata oamenilor.

Activitatea practica a constat in realizarea unui colaj intitulat "Padurea - mediu natural de viata". 

Students have been doing research on causes and effects of the climate change locally. The effects of climate change can be noticed in the following situations : birds which leave the Black Sea Coast  much later than usually, flowers which bloom at the beginning of winter etc. The climate change also affects the crops, reducing their quantities. Although young and with little scientific background, children and teenagers altogether are preoccupied with the future of the Earth, as it is the only place to live in. Our school students are interested in exchanging ideas and opinions with students from other schools, in order to find solutions and explanations.

The students of Gheorghe Magheru Secondary School participated in Climate Action Day, and initiated the PlantED global planting campaign where they planted the first tree.

Activitatea din săptămâna a doua a vizat prezentarea efectelor pe care le generează poluarea și actiunile dăunătoare ale oamenilor asupra planetei. Elevii au prezentat aceste efecte sub formă de postere și joc de rol.

Many people consider global warming and climate change to be synonymous, but scientists prefer to use "climate change" when describing the complex changes now affecting our planet's weather and climate conditions. Climate change includes not only rising average temperatures, but also extreme weather events, shifting populations and habitats of wild animals, growing seas, and a host of other impacts. All of these changes occur while humans continue to add heat-trapping greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.

We talked about every cause of global warming and what effect does it has. Then, we worked on teams on a project about global warming effects and made short videos about it.

Am adus în atenția copiilor importanța copacilor pentru calitatea aerului pe care il respiram. Copiii au aflat din povestea lui Shel Silverstein cât de plini de dăruire sunt copacii și cât de nemulțumiți sunt oamenii care nu-i apreciază darurile. Din discuțiile purtate copiii au înțeles că nu doar oamenii depind de pădure, ci și animalele.

Copiii au descoperit că putem recicla hârtia pentru a reduce numărul copacilor tăiați.

Warmer temperatures over time are changing weather patterns and disrupting the usual balance of nature, posing many risks to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth. Higher temperatures increase heat-related illnesses and can make it more difficult to work and move around. Wildfires start more easily and spread more rapidly when conditions are hotter. Because the Earth is a system, where everything is connected, changes in one area often influence changes in all others. The consequences of climate change now include: intense droughts, water scarcity, severe fires, rising sea levels, flooding, melting polar ice, catastrophic storms, declining biodiversity.

Our students acknowledge the local effects of climate change. They are creating videos and presentations about the local effects of climate change. The first effect that everybody noticed in our area is lack of snow in winter. It barely snowed last year. The second effect is that we have hot summers here, we care barely breathe during summer here.

Elevii clasei a II-a A de la Școala Gimnazială Nr. 6 Suceava/ România au învățat despre regulile micului ecologist!

Cauzele schimbărilor climatice sunt multiple. La nivel local dar și global se traduc prin efectul de seră și creșterea temperaturii medii lglobale. În ziua acținii climatice am ales să plantăm copaci alături de elevii Școlii Gimnaziale Mihăești, comuna Mihăești, județ Olt. În urma acestei activității elevii au conștientizat importanța acțiunilor noastre asupra mediului,dar și ce putem face pe termen mediu și lung în orizontul local pentru a reduce efectele încălzirii globale.

Elevii descoperă situația actuală generată de cele mai importante activități umane: arderea combustibililor,  defrișările, distrugerea biodiversității. Cantitățile uriașe de bioxid de carbon din atmosferă au efect de seră și oceanul nu reușește să le asimileze. Distrugerea pădurii Amazoniene provoacă scăderea populației sălbatice. Se observă legătura dintre biodiversitate și schimbările climatice. 

Schimbarea climei include nu doar creșterea temperaturilor medii dar și multiplicarea fenomenelor meteo extreme, modificarea populației și habitatelor faunei, creșterea nivelului mărilor și oceanelor și alte efecte din această gamă. Toate aceste schimbări apar tot mai pregnant pe măsură ce omenirea continuă să producă, prin activitățile specifice, și să elibereze în atmosferă cantități însemnate de gaze cu efect de seră care nu fac altceva decât să blocheze căldura la nivelul suprafeței planetare.

Week 2 Karlovacka gimnazija Serbia

The students did a small experiment. They created carbon dioxide in a glass and tried to extinguish the candle flame with it. We know that fire only burns if there is oxygen. It served us symbolically as well as the need of living beings for oxygen

We learned what the "forest rules" are: we take care of the campfire and put it out, we don't disturb wild animals, we don't eat mushrooms, we don't throw garbage, we don't cut forests.

We watched videos about global changes, we found solutions for global changes, we draw it. We take a look at videos from other countries.

How we see our planet with all climate changes 

We researched encyclopedias, melted ice, made a volcano experiment, did recycling, planted a plants in the kindergarten yard.

Students reflected on what effects climate change has on our planet, globally and locally. They decided to represent their findings in a drama skit. 

As always we are late... but the work, the discoveries and the enthusiasm of the students during these last 2 weeks have to be enhanced.
They analyzed very well the effects of climate change observed in the region of Valencia, 3rd largest city in Spain bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. The 4 areas were treated: fauna, flora, human activities and meteorological aspects.
They ended with personalized interviews with elderly people to really see the impact of these effects. Very nice and instructive videos (*in Spanish, French and Dutch) have been posted in the presentation. As teacher, I must say that it is so lovely and sweet but at the same time kind of overwhelming to watch my students exchanging real facts about the drastic effects of climate change...

Students tried to focus on the effects,they searched on the net.Drought,sudden storms,scarcity in the amount of water are related with global warinhy.They decided to make video.At the school garden planting actlvlty was made.

In order to draw attention to drought, one of the effects of climate change, we came together with the teachers and students of Hasan Ali Yücel Anatolian High School, Hasan Aslanoba Anatolian High School and Hürriyet Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in the Gölbaşı village of Kestel district. We drew attention to the effects of climate change by making investigations around Gölbaşı Lake and agricultural lands, which are in danger of drying out in the village. We have observed that almost all of the lake has dried up. In order to increase social awareness on environmental issues, we completed our activity by organizing a garbage collection activity around the lake.

In cooperation with TEMA, we watched presentations on climate change with our students. We decided to plant trees in our school in the coming weeks.

The Effects Of Climate Change The impact of climate change is not just a rise in temperatures. Droughts, floods, severe increase in the frequency and impact of extreme weather events such as hurricanes, ocean and sea water levels rise, the rise in the acidity of the oceans, melting glaciers as a result of factors such as plants, animals and ecosystems as well as human communities are also at serious risk.

Global Climate Change and Turkey A temperature increase of 2 ° C in the Mediterranean Basin will make its effects felt as unexpected weather events, heat waves, an increase in the number and impact of forest fires, drought and thus loss of biodiversity, a decrease in tourism revenues, loss of agricultural yields and, most importantly, drought.

2. After brainstorming about the effects of climate change on the environment, the students shared the effects of climate change on water resources, snow and glaciers with their classmates.
3. The students involved in the project prepared their own lists by researching the effects of climate change and made a presentation to their classmates about the effects of climate change. Before starting the presentation, we did a brainstorming about the effects of climate change. In the presentation, they explained the effects of climate change one by one.
4. Our school gardener introduced the trees in the school to our students. He said that there are around 1000 trees of 150 species in our school garden. He stated that thanks to the gratings around the school, rain water is stored and this water is used to irrigate trees and grass.
5. We emphasized the need to protect our forests as a solution to prevent deforestation, one of the most important causes of climate change, and the importance of planting trees. Together with our school gardener, our students planted peanut pine seedlings

We have planted 10 trees in our garden of the center. 

We planted some flowers, seeds, and trees in the garden of the campus with students from different grades. One of our classes made a tree with a branch and attached their messages to the paper leaves of the tree. Some others made bulletin boards reflecting their thoughts and feeling about the effects of climate change. They took action. 

We plan new trees in our school garden to make our world greener and our air fresher.
