"We have a single mission to protect and hand on the Planet to the next generation." Towards this goal, took a step forward towards the Climate Action Project known Internationally. This is a 6week project which is being taken up by the students guided by the facilitators in order to bring the change.
Week 1-During Week 1
Students were made aware of the Climate Change and Climate Action Project through an inhouse webinar.
Students made videos and presentations on Climate Change.
Students have undertaken a role play to impart knowledge about the role plants play in a better environment along with the external factors which are the sun, water, oxygen, and chlorophyll, and explained how these external factors are responsible for climate stability. They further elaborated on how the absence of plants will hamper the environment and will ultimately lead to climate change and global warming.
"No Body on this planet is going to be untouched by the impacts of Climate Change."
Week 2- What are the effects of climate change? Global tree planting activity #PlantEd
The main area of focus was upon the main effects climate change brings along. The increased changes in the ecosystem sum up the entire range of effects that occur throughout the planet. However, the students were taught some of the main reasons for the cause and effects of climate change with the help of a video and a presentation. Students participated in the Global Plantation Activity under PlantEd with full enthusiasm. Students of Grade 3 & 4 have told the causes and effects of Climate Change ---Global Warming, Deforestation, Flood, Extinction of Animals, Global Warming, Melting of Ice, Migrating Animals, etc in a video presentation. Students of Grade 5,6,7 took up the Seedling project to understand the consequences of different environmental conditions on the growth of different plants and the long term impact of pollution on living organisms. Students also made a Pollution Catcher as a project.

We at Millennium World School, Faridabad believe that a lot of problems in the world can be solved if we talk to each other. As a part of Week 3 of Climate Action Project, a special session was arranged for Grade V, VI and VII in collaboration with Istituto Comprensivo Don Milani Carbonia School from Italy, Europe and Ramagya School, Dadri. It was a fun filled, interactive highly enriching session during which all the participants presented their views on the issue of climate change. The students also indulged in a constructive Question/Answer round where they shared their insight and research. They students exchanged about the climate change in their respective countries and the suggested prospective solutions discussed about the causes and effects of climate change in their respective countries as well as the world, and pledged to be part of the solution to climate change .
The participants were highly enthusiastic throughout the session. This session proved Virtual interaction with people can be as good as interacting face to face. We all believe in the thoughts of Helen Keller where she specified “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much" with these views MWS Faridabad has taken up a step ahead to join the Global Community working towards the social issue of Climate Change.

RECYCLED PLANTER CLIMATE ACTION PROJECT - WEEK 4
"He who plants a tree plants a hope." ~Lucy Larcom
In Week- 4, Students of Grade 1 have examined some of the potential solutions for climate change or specific environmental issues that are affecting our planet. To mitigate this cause and to save our mother earth at the individual level, they have prepared recycled planter and have written a thankyou letter to their plants. They learned about how we can ultimately lead to a better climate worth living.
"Trees provide us with many benefits necessary for survival, including clean air, filtered water, shade, and food. They also give us hope and insight, and courage to persevere – even in the harshest conditions. Trees teach us to stay rooted while soaring to great heights." Keeping these thoughts in mind students pledged to plant a tree on their birthday every year.
VIRTUAL INTERACTION between MWS Faridabad-MARSEILLES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, ILLINIOS, and AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, COSTA RICA.
"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children." -- Native American Proverb
This is true in every aspect as we are not immortal. We are mortal beings and this planet was not handed over to us as inheritance, but we are living on Earth as tenants. In our own greed, we are exploiting the resources that we are supposed to conserve for our children. It is us, who will have to take action towards the same, take initiative to save the planet from burning up in the avarice of humans to meet their ends.
This initiative is taken by the World Wide Fund by introducing The Climate Action Project 2020 all across the globe where all the students of all the schools are participating in the project by showing that they care. And this initiative is being taken forward by the Millennium World School, Faridabad.
We, at Millennium World School are facilitating the students by bringing their own ideas and motives forward to a safe and cleaner environment for the future of the planet, as they are the ones to carry forward our legacy of what we call our home, the Earth.
The students are taking regular sessions with the teachers, to contemplate the situation around us and are coming up with ways to tackle it. Not only that, we are taking interaction sessions with the schools of different countries as well.
On 20th October 2020, little millennium-ites of Millennium World School, Faridabad, under the guidance of our Principal ma’am Ms Sangeeta Dhamija participated in a Virtual Interaction Session on Zoom with the students of AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, Costa Rica and Marseilles ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, Illinois. The students pondered upon various conditions faced in their respective countries/states and came up with ideas and ways to solve the problems faced.
It was a great session and the students got exposure to various solutions that can be taken up individually as well as nationally. The session ended on a note to carry the discussion forward as we all know the situation is far worse than it is anticipated and we are all coming together to bring out the best solutions. After all, we all have to live on the same planet.
This week students interacted internationally and shared their findings of the project. They also talked about the possible potential solutions. Inhouse Webinar was conducted which made the students dive deep into the ocean of thoughts, where they can ponder upon the causes, effects and find the solutions to the problem.
Students were shown videos from different continents to widen their thoughts and give a clearer view of what's happening in the world. Students were excited to talk with their friends overseas.

In this week Principal, Coordinator, Administrator, Facilitators, Students took a pledge towards "Environmental Protection" and "Eco-Friendly" ways. They joined the webinar held on November 5, 2020.
The initiative of the Plantation Challenge was taken and forwarded to one and all to bring the change in climate by our little steps.
