Why are the Ice Caps Melting?
Week 2

Placed by Roseanne Mamer 2017/Oct/20

Description:

This week was focused on ice caps melting and the impact that global warming has on them.  Our language arts story was an expository nonfiction on penguin chicks where they learned facts about the emperor penguin.  Then in small groups, the students learned more about penguins and their environment with their leveled readers.  At the end of the week, I read the book, “Why are the Ice Caps Melting? The Dangers of Global Warming,” by Anne Rockwell.  We discussed the greenhouse effect and some things that produce greenhouse gases, and some that don’t. We ended the week with an experiment that is in the Powerpoint presentation.
