Week 2

Placed by Irma Kiss 2020/Oct/10

Description:

The most relevant possible impacts of climate change in Romania are: modification of vegetation periods, displacement of ecosystems, prolonged droughts, floods. Sectors potentially affected include agriculture, transports, energy supply, water management, health and households. In our town, Hunedoara, land temperature is increasing; precipitation patterns are changing, generally making wet regions wetter, particularly in winter, and dry regions drier, particularly in summer. The climate-related extremes such as heat waves, heavy precipitation and droughts are increasing in frequency and intensity in many regions. Global climate change has substantially increased the probability of various extreme weather and climate events (heat waves, droughts, wildfires and flooding) in our hometown.
