Students were explained about the meaning of the term 'weather' and 'climate'. They were made to understand the difference between these two terms. Then, they came to know the meaning of climate change and about the various reasons behind it. 'Poster Making on causes of climate change' activity was planned and was given to them after which they were supposed to explain the same.
Session was started with recaptulation of the content covered in the first week of the project. The students were shown an experiment of volcano eruption which is one cause of climate change. Then, they were told about the effect of climate change on human beings, animals, plants, weather on local level. Atlast, they were sensitized about the issue and were told to plant a sapling and to take a pledge that they will be a part of green brigade and will make efforts to save Mother Earth.
The third week of Climate Action project began with a great enthusiasm. The students were guided and explained about the global impacts of Climate change through PPT, videos etc. There was a virtual collaboration with Colegio Positivo (School), Brazil. It provided a platform for students in both the countries to exchange their ideas, findings about the climate change with each other. In this way, they enhanced their knowledge about the issues of the climate change being felt all over the world.
The fourth week of Climate Action Project was aimed at discussing the solutions for making our planet, Earth a better place to live. The students of Class 2 were made to understand the various ways which we all should follow and can be taken up unitedly by all of us to deal with climate change. The concept of 3R's was explained to students and then they were told to re-use the newspaper and make their own paper bags in their own creative ways.
In Week 5, students of Class 2 expressed through any of the modes of Art like singing, dancing, presenting a skit, Art and craft, show n tell. They also got an opportunity to share their individual solutions through Student Mentor Programme held with Caroline (student Mentor)
In week 6 of Climate Action Project, the students of Class II took action to spread their individual solutions to overcome the issue of Climate Change. They were guided to make their friends and relative aware about the various ways to protect our Mother Earth either by talking to them virtually or by make attractive hand fliers and pasting them on notice boards of their society or locality.
