Maria Piedade Silva
I teach English as a Foreign Language since 1996 to pupils aged 12 to 18 and have been involved in international projects (Lingua e, Comenius, eTwinning, Erasmus+ and ASEF classNet) for about 18 years now. I am also a Teacher Trainer at Edufor Training Centre, a Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator, and a MIE Expert. I have coordinated several Comenius and Erasmus+ projects, as well as eTwinning projects which were awarded with National and European eTwinning Quality Labels. She was awarded two European eTwinning Prizes for the projects: "Photography as a Pedagogical Tool" (2014) and “Grandma’ stories in 2080”(2018) and two European Language Labels in 2009 and 2013. I am a PhD researcher, affiliated to the CECC - Research Centre for Communication and Culture, Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She has published articles and communications in national and international conferences. I am an ASEF ClassNet alumnus.
I believe that it is by meeting different people and learning from each other that we widen our visions of the world. So, travelling and meeting people is one of my interests as it allows me to learn about other cultures and see the world through other perspectives. Topics I am interested in: entrepreneurship, creating apps, languages and cultures, arts, literature, environmental issues, global issues. I am only interested in projects based on collaborative work which are not result of mere sharing of each other's classroom work. I like to see products which result from authentic collaborative learning among pupils from different schools.
