Our students have immensely dedicated themselves towards understanding the root cause of climate change. They have also drawn up their conclusion and definition for climate change based on their observations, collection of data and analysis of the same. They were dedicated towards enhancing their knowledge on the subject along with engaging themselves in activities to draw positive results. The students grew new plants, engaged themselves in activities to protect plants and widened up their horizons to preserve their environment which would ultimately lead to a sustainable and suitable environment. Climate change project was taken up by them in week-1 with complete enthusiasm where the students learnt about the plants, their essentials and how they protect us and our environment. They learnt about how they ultimately lead to a better climate worth living.
The main area of focus was upon the main effects climate change brings along. The increased changes in the ecosystem sums up the entire range of effects which occur throughout on the planet. However, the students were taught some of the main reasons of cause and effects of climate change with the help of a video and a presentation
In Week 3 we tried to connect with peers and Nasa Radost school from Subotica, Serbia. The coordinator was Ms. Natasa Vrapcevic. It was a highly interactive yet informative session where our school students presented their viewpoints and suggestions on what are the causes and effects of climate change (both locally and globally). The interaction was further followed by Q/A session round where the students from both the countries exchanged ideas on what their respective country, government and they themselves as individual citizens are doing to prevent pollution and reduce the climate change.
The students had pledged about planting more and more trees and taking up the climate action project forward for a sustainable environment in future. They shared their photographs and clips to suggest the ways in which they can contribute towards this bit. The session was very well presented with utmost enthusiasm from both the sides.
In Week- 4, Students of Grade 1 have examined some of the potential solutions for climate change or specific environmental issues that are affecting our planet. To mitigate this cause and to save our mother earth at the individual level, they have prepared recycled planter and have written a thankyou letter to their plants. They learnt about how we can ultimately lead to a better climate worth living."Trees provide us with many benefits necessary for survival, including clean air, filtered water, shade, and food. They also give us hope and insight, and courage to persevere – even in the harshest conditions. Trees teach us to stay rooted while soaring to great heights." Keeping these thoughts in mind students pledged to plant a tree on their birthday every year.
