Hi, I'm Shih Feng-Hsi, a full-time teacher from Ming-Dao High School, teaching Earth Science. I graduated from the Geology group of the Institute of Earth Sciences at National Taiwan Normal University, majoring in stabling carbon and oxygen isotope analysis and paleo environment changes. Now I teach at Ming-Dao High School from grades 9 to 12 and also I am the mentor of the GLOBE Program and the convener of the climate change professional learning community at school. Since September 2018, I have cultivated the senior students who are interested in environmental issues through the activity of GLOBE Program. First, I make them be familiar with the operation of the meteorological machines and also can investigate the meteorology independently. Afterward, they can realize whether there is any change in the meteorology of school by the daily exploration. With the above actions, we make the participants start to be aware of and realize the climate change issues, training the new acquisitions who will promote climate action in the future. Besides, from 2019 to 2020, we have led the climate change professional learning community to develop 24 lesson plans related to the climate change issues. Also, we have earned the recognition of being the climate teaching school by the Education Bureau 2 years in a row. We will consistently pay attention to the issues and the teaching of climate change in the future. Hope that the engagement of the Climate Action Project can make our team absorb more knowledge of climate change.
