I am the Program Manager for the NY State Science and Technology Entry program but come from an Environmental and Marine Science background. The mission of NY State STEP is to introduce underserved and economically disadvantaged high school and middle school students to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math and inspire them to pursue college. I work at a medical school, so I combine my environmental background with my medical school connections to teach them about ecosystem management about how the health of the environment affects human health, how their local actions affect populations around the world, and how we are all interconnected on this one planet. My passions are marine debris, climate change and groundwater contamination, which are all global issues that require many countries working together to solve.
