How to prevent climate change? You can make a difference!
Week 4

Placed by Klaudia Augustyniak 2021/Oct/23

Description:

The fourth week was a great challenge for us - we were looking for solutions to prevent climate change. The youngest students presented their own ideas in the form of art works.

Our students have also conducted some experiments. First of all, they found a link between the problem of plastics and climate change:

- increasing CO2 emissions during the production of plastic,

- plastic microparticles in the oceans are toxic to phytoplankton, which takes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

For these resons they have prepared bioplastic in two different ways, first made of potato starch and glycerin, and the second with the use of milk and vinegar.

Edible water bottles have also been prepared as an idea to reduce plastic consumption.

The last experiment gives the bottle a "second life" as it was used as a self-watering pot. This solution allows us to save the amount of water used.

All activities have been documented with photos.
