My name is Koen Smets and I have been teaching since 2012. I will guide and coordinate this project. I am married and am the father of three children. Our classes are looking forward to getting in touch!

Our secondary school is located in Hasselt, Belgium. It has almost 800 pupils with nineteen classes in the first year and twenty in the second. We speak dutch as first language, our students can also speak French and English so these languages are possible for communication.

Our school hours are from 8.30am till 3.30 pm. (time zone UTC +2)

Our first brainstorm was ‘What is causing climate change?’ and all pupils participated in this exercise during religion classes.

Four classes from the first and two from the second year will participate the whole project. This makes a total of 150 pupils, aged between 12 and 14. Our ‘human resources’ classes are responsible for the program. We also link the project to the subject ‘science & technology’ (#plantED, #message2Mars). The making of the videos and live-sessions can be linked to English and French classes.
