This week, we invited the district president of TEMA, one of the biggest organizations related to climate and environment in Turkey, to the school. He brought us presentations on climate change and all of our classes were enrolled in this organization in order to be more sensitive to the environment as a school. We are now both environmentally friendly and one of the zero waste classes. We will take part in all tree planting activities of the organization. Thanks to this project, we said that we, as the whole school, are here for the environment and our world. My Padlet link and the work I have done in the video are available. As a school, we raised awareness by shouting slogans at school with our banners.
In the classroom, my digital tools are very limited since my school is a newly opened school. For this reason, we have established a planet TV to enable children to learn and research what we can do globally with drama and similar activities. Children shared on this TV screen. They talked about what could be the news in 2050.
We took small steps with our students, but big steps for the future. First we prepared a presentation about what we can do. Then we prepared a video and produced simple but fast solutions. We talked about the dimensions of water and electricity consumption in our house. We made a survey about our natural energy resources and non-renewable energy resources. Everyone shared the solutions they found and researched.

This week, we talked about what small steps we can take against climate change and how we can make big impacts. We used different web2 tools and produced solutions. We collaborated, discussed in class, and took steps on these solutions at home. We have always worked together with our parents regarding climate education. We started the board preparations at school. Our goal is to let everyone know. We are the zero waste class in our country. We recycled some materials. Now I will share a slide link that I used in class. We also attended LEGO BUILD CHANGE webinar with my students.

This week, we continued on solutions and made a school-wide protest. In addition, we signed a campaign for the closure of the thermal power plant in our district or for the highest necessary measures to be taken for the pollution it causes to the environment. We wrote a letter to our mayor with the campaign. We want to deliver as soon as possible.
