A 2015 study by the Institute for transportation and development policy concluded that a dramatic increase about 20% in cycling worldwide could cut carbon dioxide emissions from urban passenger transport by nearly 11% in 2050. Research from University of Oxford said that We found that those who switch just one trip per day from car  driving to cycling reduce carbon footprint by about 0.5 tonnes over a  year presenting a substantial share of average per capita CO2 emissions.
