Coral Zayas is a bilingual teacher at an E-STEAM academy in Austin ISD. She has previously taught for multiple Dallas-Fort Worth area school districts as well as Tarrant County College in Fort Worth. Her teaching and educational career began 10 years ago in Arizona. She began teaching in Arizona, then worked with Northern Arizona University and the Flagstaff YMCA to establish the Northern Arizona College Resource Center and work as a college access advisor. Her biggest passions in education include: equity and access, ESL/bilingual learners, global education and EdTech. She was named Teacher of the Year in 2017-2018. This year through ISTE she will be a part of the inaugural Equity Action Forum, working on issues related to diverse teacher retention and career development, and will take part in the ISTE and Ted-ED Masterclass for educators. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Education through Purdue Universities’ Instructional Design and Technology program.
