When I read about this project, I was sure I wanted to get involved! I started telling my students about it and most of them really showed interest. So at that moment we started working on this padlet. We added info, vocabulary, pictures, links, videos that could be helpful for the project. Many of them didn`t even know what Climate Change meant or the importance of living in a sustainable planet. When the project started we were all ready to work on the local causes and we all agreed that DEFORESTATION is our big problem, but also pollution! We hope our action can help!
We have been investigating and reading a lot about the problems in our country; the effects of Climate Change in Argentina. At present we are having serious problems with wildfires that are burning out of control. The lack of rain doesn`t help at all! As you may know, Argentina has amazing landscapes with very rich biodiversity. which are being affected seriously. We are losing many of our most beautiful landscapes and we have to deal with all the consequences it causes. It`s time we stopped the damage and started the repair! There is only one way...TOGETHER!
The big day has arrived! We have already had our first virtual interaction! What an awesome experience!! People from India, Brazil and Ukraine discussing with us about Climate Change! We all agreed that no matter how far we are, we share the same environmental issues. The teachers all agreed that people of our age have caused a lot of damage to the environment, mainly because of our ignorance or irresponsibility. It is our responsibility now to inspire the young to take action and bring change!!! "It`s time we stopped the damage and started the repair!"
" WE ARE THE FIRST GENERATION TO KNOW THE FULL IMPACT OF WHAT WE ARE DOING TO OUR PLANET, AND THE LAST THAT HAS THE CHANCE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT."
I cannot even find the words to describe such a thrilling experience! I had never imagined that one day I was going to have virtual interactions with people from India, Brazil, Ukraine and Australia! All of them so warm and so cute! When it comes to Climate Change, we all agree that no matter where we live, we share the same problems. I feel very glad to see how the young involve in these issues and how they try to find solutions. We are in good hands...
